Year-Round News & Updates on the Minnesota Timberwolves
The Timberwolves coaching search candidates just slimmed down a bit as news has broke that Mike Woodson--the former Atlanta Hawks head coach has signed on to be an assistant with the New York Knicks alongside Mike D'Antoni.
Woodson is adamant that he's not going to be a 'defensive specialist' for the Knicks as he insists that's not the only facet of the game he'll help New York with. The list of remaining candidates include: Terry Porter, Larry Brown, Bernie Bickerstaff, Sam Mitchell, Don Nelson & Rick Adelman--with Adelman being considered the frontrunner. Mike Woodson was fired after six seasons in Atlanta improving the Hawks every year. He was replaced by Larry Drew and took the 2010-11 NBA season 'off'. He was one of the final two candidates in the Detroit Pistons job, but Lawrence Frank was hired instead as the new Piston head coach. Word was Woodson was also being considered as a Boston Celtics assistant next to head coach Doc Rivers (Larry Brown is also a name that has surfaced as a Celtic assistant). That's all for now, remember to stay tuned all year round for TWolves news, information & updates. GO WOLVES!
