Year-Round News & Updates on the Minnesota Timberwolves
The Minnesota Timberwolves have set their summer league roster. They held a short mini camp at the Target Center late last week and narrowed down a field of 21 players to 19. Forward Gary Johnson (6'6", 238lbs.) and guard Malcolm Lee (6'5", 200lbs.) were the two that won't be in Vegas, playing for Minnesota. The coaching staff decided they preferred that Lee stay in Minnesota and work on his strength and conditioning. They also didn't think it was a good idea for him to play five games in seven nights. Lee missed the first portion of the season, while he recovered from surgery on a torn meniscus. He did return and played in the final six weeks of the season. Had Ricky Rubio and Luke Ridnour not gone down, he likely wouldn't have seen much time (likely would've seen his minutes in the D-League). Here's the full 19-man roster... William Buford, Guard-Forward Jet Chang, Guard Papa Dia, Forward Lior Eliyahu, Forward Tony Easley, Forward Zabian Dowdell, Guard Corey Fisher, Guard Mike Harris, Forward Robbie Hummel, Forward Wesley Johnson, Forward-Guard Coby Karl, Guard Sylven Landesberg, Guard Lamont Mack, Forward Luke Nevill, Center Paulo Prestes, Center Luke Sikma, Forward Garrett Stutz, Center Kammron Taylor, Guard Derrick Williams, Forward The Timberwolves' first game will be tonight (Monday) vs. the Los Angeles Clippers. That one tips at 9pmCT, however it won't be live on NBATV, instead, it will be on a tape delay and won't be on until 8amCT Tuesday morning.
We'll give you the update following that first game, tomorrow morning. Until then, thanks for reading HOWL and GO WOLVES!
