Year-Round News & Updates on the Minnesota Timberwolves
The Minnesota Timberwolves and restricted free agent Greg Stiemsma have reportedly agreed on contract terms.
The details have not yet been released, however it's sounding as though the Celtics will not match the offer, following the sign-and-trade deal that brought Courtney Lee to Boston.
Stiemsma will be the team's backup center, playing behind Pekovic for the majority of his minutes, but could also see a few minutes at power forward, as well.
After the Timberwolves missed out on Jordan Hill (resigned with the Lakers), Stiemsma became their next big target.
He reportedly received another offer, from another team (not the Celtics), but was weighing that deal, until we got word the Wolves and him had reached a verbal agreement.
They'll sign him to an offer sheet and the Celtics will have three days to match (again, not expected).
