Year-Round News & Updates on the Minnesota Timberwolves
Coming into the Trade Deadline, it sounded as though if someone was going to be heading to Minnesota it would be exiled Denver guard Andre Miller. The Wolves & the Wizards were the two teams that were in contention to acquire Miller and round about 11:30amCST; the Wizards, Sixers & Nuggets pulled the trigger on a deal that sent Miller to Washington, Jan Vesely to Denver and Eric Maynor & two second-round picks to Philadelphia.
Once Andre Miller was traded to the Wizards, I had a pretty good feeling that the Wolves weren't going to be involved in any trades today. There was a report in the afternoon of Minnesota going after Cleveland's Jarrett Jack, in a likely Barea--Jack swap, but the two sides couldn't come to an agreement. It was officially confirmed that the Wolves were not involved in any deals by about 2:20 via the Twitter account of Minnesota's PR department. I was hoping for a J.J. Barea trade, but it's likely for the best that the Wolves didn't make any panic moves to give up any valuable assets for a player who likely won't be on the team next season. The Timberwolves will finish out the season with the same 15 guys they began it with, with the hope that they can at least end the season on a high note.
