Year-Round News & Updates on the Minnesota Timberwolves
The Minnesota Timberwolves are reportedly engaged in negotiations with the Houston Rockets. The deal would involve Rockets swingman Kevin Martin and the Wolves would likely send the 18th pick to Houston. Head coach Rick Adelman has ties with Martin. He was his coach for a number of years in Sacramento and again in Houston. Now it sounds like Martin could follow Rick, once again. The Rockets are attempting to acquire a number of first round picks in a attempt to make them a part of a package deal for Orlando's Dwight Howard. The Rockets are also in negotiations with Toronto (#8) and Sacramento (#5). The Rockets also hold the 14th & 16th picks in Thursday's draft. It's been reported that David Kahn isn't a big Kevin Martin fan, if a deal like this was to go through it would prove that Rick Adelman has plenty of influence in the moves that the Wolves make. A starting lineup of Ricky Rubio, Kevin Martin, Derrick Williams (if he learns how to guard the perimeter), Kevin Love and Nikola Pekovic, would be one of the playoff-contenders in the Western Conference. A deal like this would likely happen on draft night. The draft is set for 6pmCT on Thursday June 26th. That's all for now, thanks for reading HOWL and GO WOLVES!
