Year-Round News & Updates on the Minnesota Timberwolves
As reported earlier, J.J. Barea had agreed, in principal, to a 4-year $19M deal with the Timberwolves. Since then, the deal has become official and Barea is one of three new Timberwolves....
The J.J. Barea deal--although official won't be announce by the Wolves or the league for a few more days because with all the deals and trades recently, the league office is reportedly a bit backed up with paperwork. Rookie and #2 overall pick Derrick Williams came to an agreement with the Timberwolves that was made official today. Rookie and 2nd round pick (43rd overall) Malcolm Lee has also officially joined the Timberwolves--with a three-year deal. Last week we talked about how he hasn't had a contract while in training camp, but had decided to show up and play nonetheless--to show what he can do. Apparently he did just that, as some consider his contract to mirror that of a 1st round pick and not a 2nd round pick. His contract is for 3-years all fully guaranteed--obviously he showed the Wolves what he could do! That's all for now, thanks for reading!
