Year-Round News & Updates on the Minnesota Timberwolves
Former Minnesota Timberwolves big man Anthony Tolliver has signed a one-year veteran's minimum deal with the Atlanta Hawks.
Tolliver will provide depth behind Josh Smith at power forward. He provides a floor-stretching big man that'll hustle every minute he's on the floor. I can honestly say, Anthony Tolliver was one of my favorite TWolves players these past two seasons. He's an intelligent, energy guy that's a big plus for the Atlanta Hawks! Ultimately the Timberwolves chose Louis Amundson over Anthony Tolliver. The biggest difference between these two? Amundson is more of a gritty player that plays both frontcourt positions and can effectively guard bigger centers. Whereas Tolliver can play small forward, power forward and center. But defensively he's a liability at small forward & center. With both players you get energy & hustle. With Amundson you get some more rebounds and inside buckets and Tolliver is a bit more athletic and can step out to the three. All in all, I think both players will thrive with their new teams. Tolliver will also get more opportunities and minutes with the Atlanta Hawks, as well. So, I'm definitely happy for him. That's all for now, thanks for reading HOWL and GO WOLVES!
