Kahn definitely dragged out the Kurt Rambis situation to an incredible extent--stringing him along for months & months after the Timberwolves season had ended.
Now with almost two months of searching and seven potential candidates--we have to assume a decision is in the near future--hopefully the very near future. More so, just to get the decision over with so these seven candidates and Timberwolves fans will finally have a decision.
These seven candidates that we've talked about at great lengths the past two months (see under 'Coach Search' tab) include: Terry Porter, Mike Woodson, Don Nelson, Bernie Bickerstaff, Rick Adelman, Sam Mitchell & Larry Brown.
These seven candidates have basically been narrowed down to three candidats (unofficially). Those three? Rick Adelman, Don Nelson & Sam Mitchell.
As stated a thousand times before--Rick Adelman is the favorite for the job. It's basically up to him if he wants the job--he's been adamant that he wants to take a year off from the coaching grind--however an offer upwards of $4M could be convincing enough...
If it's not Adelman then Kahn & Taylor will move on to Don Nelson or Sam Mitchell. The Winningest Coach in NBA History--Don Nelson would be the choice of David Kahn & former TWolves player, former Raptors coach & former Coach of the Year: Sam Mitchell would be Owner Glen Taylor's choice.
It was originally stated that a decision would likely be made in the first week of August! However, we're now moving into the fourth week of August and still NOTHING!
The Timberwolves could certainly wait under the end of the lockout is a little clearer and closer. I just hope that a decision will come in the next few weeks AND that, that decision will be...SAM MITCHELL!
That's all for now, thanks for reading and remember to check back daily all year round for TWolves news, information and updates. Also feel free to browse through the rest of what WeeblyWolves has to offer from the tabs above! GO WOLVES!
