Year-Round News & Updates on the Minnesota Timberwolves
Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio had surgery on his knee yesterday in Vail Colorado. The surgery was to reconstruct two torn ligaments in his left knee. Dr. Richard Steadman, performed the surgery. Rubio went down, March 9th vs. the Lakers following a collision with Lakers shooting guard Kobe Bryant, when his knee buckled and he collapsed to the floor. It was initially deemed a torn ACL, however during yesterday's surgery they also found damage to Rubio's LCL, which needed reconstruction, as well. No timetable has been set, but typical recovery time is usually 6-9 months. Team officials are optimistic that he'll be ready for the start of next season.
