Year-Round News & Updates on the Minnesota Timberwolves
The Minnesota Timberwolves have recalled rookie Malcolm Lee from the D-League; Sioux Falls Skyforce. During three games in the D-League Lee averaged 9.7ppg & 6apg. Shortly after training camp began Malcolm Lee had surgery on his left knee for a torn meniscus. This short stint in the D-League was ultimately a quick rehab for Lee. Malcolm did play in the team's preseason games vs. the Bucks this summer. The Wolves (and every other NBA team) played just two preseason games in this summer. Lee played just a few minutes in the "garbage time" of the fourth quarter. In the second game, both Ricky Rubio & J.J. Barea were out with some minor injuries that didn't allow them to play. Because they weren't playing Lee played 24 minutes off the bench. He finished with 9pts, 4rebs, 5ast, 1stl, 3-6 FG, 3-4 FT & 4tos. I said after that second preseason game this summer that I could see Lee becoming the team's starting shooting guard. I'm not certain that's a reality this season, because of the injury. He's got the length (6-5) and ability to defend big guards in this League. Hearing from guys who watched him in the D-League, the one thing they've said is that he needs to work on limiting turnovers. That's no surprise--Lee is far from the only TWolf with that problem! Malcolm Lee is expected to practice with the Timberwolves this afternoon (2/14). I'll give up an update if there is anything to report in the injury report page under the Team Report section on this site. Thanks for reading HOWL and GO WOLVES!
